Sometimes the acknowledgements are more fun than the books they're attached to! I particularly love those long, soupy ones which are like Oscar speeches and I always read them completely detached from the novel, if you know what I mean. And I read them first and as far as I know don't have my fun spoiled. Am I alone in this weird taste? I don't write fulsome acknowledgments but I have had a para in the front (sorry, Charlie!) of a couple of novels and a small para at the end of a couple of others. Anyone else going to confess?

you can't find them on your Google Analytics dashboard. They're tucked into your Goals or Pay-per-click tracking. Set up a goal and you can then see the results with this new feature once they start tallying.

Phil,I would be more inclined to agree with you if Craig came out and denounced his long record of helping to promote gay bashing in this country. Is he entitled to keep his hypocrisy in the closet so he can return to the Senate and continue to promote the persecution of gay people in this country? That's not a principle I am all that eager to promote. And where does Specter, who was chair of the Judiciary Committee, stand on gay marriage? Is he willing to stand up for that as well as for Craig's right to privacy? It seems to me that the Jewish ethic is to stand with gays, not with the hypocrites.

My experience has been that those who wanted kids and had them were happy. Those that did not want kids and did not have them also are happy. The people who are unhappy are those that wanted kids, but for whatever reason, were not able to have them and those that did not want kids but ended up having them.Agreed.
